- jake (jak) se mte (m)[ jak se m], Jak se vm (ti) da - How are you?
These greetings are not as common as in English. In Czech, you ask it when you want to to know how your friend is doing not instead of "good morning".
In Czech, you may hear a little longer story than the stereotupe "fine, thank you". The European people so not share the American optimistic outlook and more often than not, you may hear an answer more in the form of a complaint.
