Mt
The Call of the First Disciples.
4:18 As he was walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon who is called Peter, and his brother Andrew, casting a net into the sea; they were fishermen.
4:19 He said to them, "Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men."
4:20 At once they left their nets and followed him.
4:21 He walked along from there and saw two other brothers, James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John. They were in a boat, with their father Zebedee, mending their nets. He called them,
4:22 and immediately they left their boat and their father and followed him.

The Call of the First Disciples.
1:16 As he passed by the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting their nets into the sea; they were fishermen.
1:17 Jesus said to them, "Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men."
1:18 Then they abandoned their nets and followed him.
1:19 He walked along a little farther and saw James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John. They too were in a boat mending their nets.
1:20 Then he called them. So they left their father Zebedee in the boat along with the hired men and followed him.

CHAPTER 5 The Call of Simon the Fisherman.
5:1 While the crowd was pressing in on Jesus and listening to the word of God, he was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret.
5:2 He saw two boats there alongside the lake; the fishermen had disembarked and were washing their nets.
5:3 Getting into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, he asked him to put out a short distance from the shore. Then he sat down and taught the crowds from the boat.
5:4 After he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, "Put out into deep water and lower your nets for a catch."
5:5 Simon said in reply, "Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing, but at your command I will lower the nets."
5:6 When they had done this, they caught a great number of fish and their nets were tearing.
5:7 They signaled to their partners in the other boat to come to help them. They came and filled both boats so that they were in danger of sinking.
5:8 When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at the knees of Jesus and said, "Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man."
5:9 For astonishment at the catch of fish they had made seized him and all those with him,
5:10 and likewise James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners of Simon. Jesus said to Simon, "Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men."
5:11 When they brought their boats to the shore, they left everything and followed him.
Jn
The First Disciples.
1:35 The next day John was there again with two of his disciples,
1:36 and as he watched Jesus walk by, he said, "Behold, the Lamb of God."
1:37 The two disciples heard what he said and followed Jesus.
1:38 Jesus turned and saw them following him and said to them, "What are you looking for?" They said to him, "Rabbi" (which translated means Teacher), "where are you staying?"
1:39 He said to them,"Come, and you will see." So they went and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day. It was about four in the afternoon.
1:40 Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was one of the two who heard John and followed Jesus.
1:41 He first found his own brother Simon and told him, "We have found the Messiah" (which is translated Anointed).
1:42 Then he brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, "You are Simon the son of John; you will be called Kephas" (which is translated Peter).
1:43 The next day he decided to go to Galilee, and he found Philip. And Jesus said to him, "Follow me."
1:44 Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the town of Andrew and Peter.
1:45 Philip found Nathanael and told him, "We have found the one about whom Moses wrote in the law, and also the prophets, Jesus, son of Joseph, from Nazareth."
1:46 But Nathanael said to him, "Can anything good come from Nazareth?" Philip said to him, "Come and see."
1:47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and said of him, "Here is a true Israelite. There is no duplicity in him."
1:48 Nathanael said to him, "How do you know me?" Jesus answered and said to him, "Before Philip called you, I saw you under the fig tree."
1:49 Nathanael answered him, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel."
1:50 Jesus answered and said to him, "Do you believe because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than this."
1:51 And he said to him, "Amen, amen, I say to you, you will see the sky opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man."
